PROCEEDS BENEFIT Mikala Bradbury Bagambe and Missionary Work
Hi, my name is Mikala Bagambe (Bradbury).
I grew up in Wellington, Kansas, and first traveled to Uganda in 2016. From that first trip, I knew God was calling me back as a full-time missionary. After several return trips and completing my Social Work degree at K-State, I moved to Uganda in 2021. It was there that I met my husband, Allan. We married in 2022 and have been serving in ministry together ever since.
We work with a small non-profit called Derakim, where our focus is discipleship. Together, we lead a weekly fellowship and Bible study for young adults, as well as Bible studies for teachers and students at a local school. On a personal level, we are also raising two of Allan’s younger brothers, ages 6 and 15, who live with us full-time.
This past April, I had to unexpectedly return to the U.S. for medical care after months of unexplained illness. In May, I was diagnosed with Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA), a rare and serious autoimmune vasculitis. Getting a diagnosis was a mix of relief and uncertainty, but I am deeply grateful it was caught early and that treatment has been effective so far. Still, it meant being separated from Allan and the boys for four months while I began treatment here in the States.
Because of the nature of ministry work, Allan and I don’t have a financial safety net for medical emergencies. The cost of ongoing care, medications, and travel has been significant. On top of that, we are praying and working toward Allan being able to come to the U.S. soon, which also carries large expenses.
Your support means so much to us during this season. Every donation helps—whether it’s toward medical bills, travel costs, or sustaining our family and ministry in Uganda. We are so thankful for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity as we continue to follow where God leads.
